An unforgettable day at the Biji Buddy Bash 2025! Proudly organized by Hide & Seeds Production and hosted at the vibrant Dasein Academy of Art, in collaboration with Rtist Malaysia, the event transformed into a dynamic hub of ideas, color, and community. This year, we celebrated a monumental achievement: the Biji Buddy Bash, led by Hide & Seeds, was honored with the prestigious Malaysia Creative Excellence Award for its outstanding contribution to fostering local talent and innovation, solidifying its role as a cornerstone of Malaysia’s creative landscape.
The heart of the event pulsed with the Golden Brush Award: Biji Mascot Design Competition and the IP Character Poster Design Contest. These challenges inspired participants to push creative boundaries, reimagining Biji in bold new forms and crafting original characters destined to shine in an animated universe. The entries were a dazzling display of imagination, showcasing Malaysia’s wealth of untapped creative potential.
Beyond the competitions, the bash buzzed with engaging workshops, showcases, and hands-on activities, offering students and seasoned artists alike the chance to sketch, learn, and connect. The creative summit, “Build Your IP Character,” stole the spotlight with Michael Chuah’s inspiring insights on crafting emotional characters and JT Yean from Weyrdworks Studio sharing wisdom on thriving in the creative industry.
At the core of it all was “Biji,” inspired by the Dipterocarpus tree (Pokok Keruing), whose spinning seeds embody potential and renewal. As Hide & Seeds Director Kin Lek shared, “With Biji, we’re nurturing original IP that can grow from local roots to global stages, This vision, now validated by our award, fuels our mission forward.
Backed by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and valued partners, the event went beyond fun—it championed collaboration, self-discovery, and community growth, planting seeds for Malaysia’s future in education, IP licensing, sustainability, and entertainment. The Malaysia Creative Excellence Award is a testament to Hide & Seeds’ dedication to these efforts, proving that Biji Buddy Bash is more than an event—it’s a movement.
