We are ecstatic to share that Hide & Seeds Production had the incredible opportunity to join the Annecy Festival & MIFA 2023 in France from June 12th to 17th. Alongside 25 other Malaysian companies, we proudly formed the Malaysia Pavilion under the auspices of the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) at the Imperial Palace of Annecy. We’re thrilled to announce that our team was fully sponsored by MATRADE for this prestigious event!
Let’s take a fond look back at this memorable, emotionally-charged week at the Festival and the International Animation Film Market (MIFA). Despite its length, the festival flew by in a whirlwind of creativity, leaving us with unforgettable memories and a profound emotional impact. The Annecy Festival 2023 boasted an impressive attendance of 15,820 accredited individuals from 102 countries, including 6,410 MIFA badge holders. This allowed us to forge direct connections and network with prominent figures from Europe and America, underscoring the festival’s international reach and influence.
This was our third international animation event, and we were well-prepared for the myriad business networking opportunities! A total of 156 professional events provided platforms for renowned directors, CEOs, funders, and distributors to share their insights about the animation industry. We seized this opportunity to conduct business match-ups with over 40 companies worldwide. A special thanks to Pixar, DreamWorks, Paramount Pictures, Cinesite, Netflix, Nickelodeon, and many more for the fruitful interactions!
One of the standout features of Annecy 2023 was the sheer number of screenings—345 in total! Attendees were spoiled for choice, with opportunities to immerse themselves in a diverse range of animated films. These screenings provided filmmakers with platforms to showcase their works, receive feedback, and connect with industry professionals, celebrating the artistry and innovation in the world of animation.
Annecy 2023 was truly a melting pot of creativity, bringing together artists, directors, producers, and animation enthusiasts from around the globe. The festival fostered meaningful connections as participants engaged in lively discussions, shared insights, and forged new partnerships. The power of animation as a universal language was palpable, transcending borders and fostering unity among attendees.
